What Does Islam Say About Treatment?
ALLAH created man primarily for His worship. To achieve this, he must be healthy. Sometimes a person’s health is affected by certain disorders which affect his health. Treating any kind of illness is proven by the Sunnah of the Hazrat Muhammad (peace and blessings of Allah be upon him). It should not be neglected.
There is a narration from Jami ‘al-Tirmidhi that when the Companions of the Hazrat Muhammad (peace and blessings of Allah be upon him) inquired about the treatment of the Hazrat Muhammad (peace and blessings of Allah be upon him), the Hazrat Muhammad (peace and blessings of Allah be upon him) said: Undoubtedly, Allah has not created any disease except old age which cannot be cured.
Beloved Hazrat Muhammad (peace and blessings of Allah be upon him) said: “Surely Allah did not send down any disease but with it He sent down medicine for him. He who knows, knows, and he who remains ignorant remains ignorant.(Masand Imam Ahmed, 4/872)
And in another place the Hazrat Muhammad PBUH said: “You must hold the two healings, the Qur’an and the honey.”(Sunni Ibn Maoja, 2/1142)
This is the method used by the Hazrat Muhammad (peace and blessings of Allah be upon him) in his treatment
Allama Suyuti (may Allah have mercy on him) says: “In this verse Hazrat Muhammad (peace and blessings of Allah be upon him) combined both human medicine and divine medicine.
